Beyond his vocal prowess, Sir Tom is known for his magnetic stage presence and charisma, making every performance unforgettable.

Some people are born entertainers, and Sir Tom Jones is certainly one of them. His passion for sharing music shines through every time he performs, bringing joy to his audience. The crowd was ecstatic, and Judge Meghan Trainor was visibly thrilled, watching Sir Tom with the awe of a young fan.

The conversation between Olly Murs and Sir Tom offered fascinating insights into the success of “It’s Not Unusual,” adding another memorable moment to the episode. The Welsh icon shared with his co-judge, “I recorded ‘It’s Not Unusual’ when I was 24, and it went to number one.” This was an incredible achievement for a debut single by a rising artist. Sir Tom also reflected on his legendary live performance of “Delilah” on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1968, which showcased his exceptional stage presence.

Sir Tom revealed to Murs that he recorded “It’s Not Unusual” in late 1964, with its release following in early 1965. Originally, he had recorded a demo for Sandie Shaw, who was supposed to be the song’s original performer. However, upon hearing the track, Shaw herself declared, “Whoever is singing this, that’s his song.” Sir Tom later re-recorded the song, confident in its potential success even during the demo phase.
