Ellen DeGeneres Says Goodbye to Stand-Up Comedy

Beloved comedian Ellen DeGeneres has announced her decision to end her stand-up tour, “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up.”

During a performance in Santa Rosa, California, Ellen shared with the audience that this would be her final tour.

When asked if she would continue performing in other venues, such as Broadway or in movies, Ellen replied, “Um, no. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special,” which is set to air at the end of 2024, “I’m done.”

Several of Ellen’s upcoming shows, including those in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago, have been canceled.

Although Ellen has not yet commented on the cancellations, she expressed gratitude to her fans, saying, “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens.”

Reflecting on recent controversies, the 66-year-old humorously added, “Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean,” referring to the allegations against her.

She then joked about eventually being “kicked out for being old.”

However, Ellen rejected the label of being mean, stating, “I am many things, but I am not mean.”

She acknowledged the shift in public perception, admitting, “I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now, I realize I said that during the height of my popularity.” Despite the challenges, Ellen remains grateful for her dedicated fanbase.
