Ava’s marriage to Peter had been far from perfect, but she struggled to let go until she discovered he had been unfaithful. One night, Peter came home late, sweaty and claiming to have been working late on a project. Ava, sensing something was off due to his recent distance, decided to follow him the next day.

Her heart raced as she watched Peter stop at a house, where a well-dressed woman greeted him with a hug before they went inside. It became clear to Ava that Peter was having an affair, and this was the cause of his recent coldness towards her. Devastated, she confronted him when he returned home, asking if he was seeing someone else. Peter admitted he had fallen in love with another woman, but still claimed to have feelings for Ava. He blamed Ava for his infidelity, accusing her of being cold and unsupportive.

Overwhelmed, Ava demanded a divorce. Peter, however, refused, yelling and threatening not to sign any papers. That night, Ava was left in tears, unable to bear the thought of living with someone who loved another. The next morning, she discovered Peter had disappeared along with his valuables from their safe.

Desperate, Ava went to Peter’s mother, Martha, who blamed Ava for Peter’s departure. Martha denied knowing about the affair and accused Ava of ruining Peter’s life. Realizing Martha couldn’t help, Ava returned home to find it eerily empty. Days passed with no sign of Peter, his phone off and no response to her emails.

Then, news broke of a plane crash with Peter’s name on the list of victims. Ava was shocked and devastated. Just as she was trying to come to terms with his death, Martha appeared at her door, accusing her of causing Peter’s death.

Two years later, Ava took a trip to a nearby city. While shopping, she saw a man who looked exactly like Peter, accompanied by Martha. Overwhelmed with disbelief, Ava followed them and confronted Peter, who confessed he had survived the plane crash, faked his death, and started a new life with a stolen identity and money. Martha had helped him.

Peter’s betrayal left Ava feeling like a fool. When Peter tried to hide his secret, he became violent, hitting Ava and locking her in a basement. Martha eventually agreed to release Ava if she promised not to harm Peter or report him. Desperate to escape, Ava assured Martha she wouldn’t expose them and fled in Peter’s car. However, she was too weak and crashed into a tree, losing consciousness.

Ava woke up in a hospital, where Officer Daniels informed her that Peter had been living under a false identity. Her testimony was crucial in the investigation, leading to Peter’s potential imprisonment. Ava finally felt a sense of relief, ready to leave her troubled past behind.
