New Mom Astonished as Newborn Lifts Head and Crawls in Hospital Cot

After arriving three weeks past her due date, little Nyilah Daise Tzabari decided to make up for lost time with an impressive debut.

At just three days old, Nyilah was already lifting her head and moving across her crib, wowing her first-time parents with her unusual strength and energy. Samantha Mitchell, Nyilah’s mom from White Oak, PA, captured the moment on video, showcasing her tiny daughter pushing herself up in the hospital crib. “She wasn’t even a full three days old,” said Samantha, adding that Nyilah’s progress has made her feel like she’s experiencing newborn life in a whole new way. “I’ve worked with kids for over 20 years and have never seen a baby like this.”

The TikTok clip of Nyilah’s early “crawling” moment has since gone viral, amassing 57.5 million views and sparking a wave of comments. Viewers joked about “new babies coming out ready to walk” and suggested Samantha baby-proof her house early for Nyilah’s inevitable adventures.

Born on February 27, 2023, weighing 7 lbs 6 oz, Nyilah is the first child of Samantha and her fiancé, Ofer Tzabari. Her mom documented the extraordinary moment to prove to family and friends that her newborn really was crawling. “My mom, who was there, insisted I film it,” Samantha shared. “Otherwise, no one would’ve believed it—especially not my fiancé!”

As Nyilah’s fast-paced development continued, she began hitting milestones early: rolling from her tummy to her back by 18 days, smiling at one month, and flipping from back to tummy by two months. By three months, she was giving her mom playful “punches” with her tiny, mitten-covered fists. Samantha joked that she’s bracing herself for the day Nyilah starts walking, as her baby is already strong enough to stand with support. “She just won’t bend her knees—she wants to stand all the time!” Samantha said, marveling at her little one’s strength and determination.

Alongside her physical milestones, Nyilah is also chatty and loves trying to mimic words. Samantha and Ofer often tell her “I love you,” and the proud mom is convinced her baby tries to echo it back in her own babbling way. “If she makes a noise and we laugh, she keeps doing it because she knows we’ll respond,” Samantha said. “She’s so clever!”

Now seven weeks old, Nyilah has become a bright, joyful baby who laughs and smiles back at everyone around her. Her mom couldn’t be prouder. “I thought these behaviors were just what babies do,” Samantha admitted, “but it turns out her progress is really unusual.”
