Prince Harry is reportedly devastated upon learning that his older brother, Prince William, has been named Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, a title Harry previously held. According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the announcement from Buckingham Palace has deeply affected Harry.
Fitzwilliams stated, “King Charles’ decision to strip Prince Harry of his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps is a significant blow for the son who has always felt marginalized.”
The transfer of the title to Prince William, whom Harry reportedly blames for many of his struggles, has left him emotional. Fitzwilliams added, “Harry needs to realize that betraying the family means losing both the duties you disliked and the roles you cherished.”
Despite this setback, Prince Harry has shown resilience. At a recent event honoring the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, he prominently wore the KCVO Neck Order and Star, bestowed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II. Royal author Tom Quinn suggests this was Harry’s way of asserting his worth and reminding his family of his contributions.
The timing of William’s new title has further strained the relationship between Harry and King Charles III. Despite public interest, Harry’s recent visit to the U.K. did not include a meeting with his father, intensifying scrutiny and criticism of the King’s priorities.
