Woman Shares Challenges of Being Criticized for Her Size During Pregnancy

Throughout her pregnancy, Rodriguez faced remarks like “You’re huge” and “Are you sure it’s just one baby?” Despite the negativity, both Rodriguez and her baby were in excellent health. She emphasized that while some pregnancies with large bumps may encounter complications, hers was perfectly normal given her body’s natural changes.

As a business entrepreneur in health and wellness from Las Vegas, Nevada, Rodriguez noted that the curiosity about her bump extended beyond social media. Despite this, she responded calmly, acknowledging her size and the challenges it brought.

Standing at 4’11” with a shorter torso, Rodriguez’s bump appeared larger than average, a fact her doctors attributed to her body type. Despite beginning to show early in her pregnancy, Rodriguez was eager to share her journey, especially after trying for a second child.

Although Rodriguez had a higher level of amniotic fluid, a condition affecting 1% to 2% of pregnancies called polyhydramnios, her doctors confirmed she didn’t have it. She also didn’t face other causes of a large belly during pregnancy, like maternal diabetes or fetal structural anomalies.
